Citation M2 - Impressive runway performance
Переглядів 142 тис.10 років тому
Recently I was fortunate enough to demo Cessna's new Citation M2. Beyond the standard demo program, I got to experience something a little different. The factory pilots offered to prove me wrong on my claim that a particular airport I often fly to/from was not a suitable place to fly a Citation into. This is one impressive airplane...
TBM 700 approach and landing in ugly turbulence
Переглядів 127 тис.15 років тому
Approach and landing in the TBM 700 during a bad weather day. Planes ahead were reporting /- 20 knot low level windshear at 200'. In some ways the video doesn't do justice to how bumpy it actually was since the camera was fixed to the glareshield and therefore moved with the plane as it got tossed around. The experience was a little more exciting for the people on board...

Fun times in the TBM. Startup, taxi, take-off, landing.
What alarm is that at the start
Nice landing ....tough approach
😍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💜💜❤
I like the inside/outside views.
I got ya 300 on the likes good job 👍
Excellent performance and executed. What makes the M2 even more exceptional is that these factory pilots couldn't believe it themselves. This clip should be a promo clip for the M2. Well done sirs!
How did You record the MFD like that??
my favorite jet next to the citation X.
Is there a way to prevent the passengers from opening the main door during flight?
the door wouldn't budge if it's pressurized
where is this at?
Pretty sure I need one.
Fantástic from Brazil.
You got it in alright, but now how the hell you going to get out? That's is for sure a short runway for any jet. Back in the 70's I saw a DC-4 land on a Georgia mountain top, "Polk County Pot Plane" at night on a dirt cut out that was less than a 1000 foot. Had a dude up a pine tree with a flashlight guiding him in was what I heard, anyway had to build a new real runway to get that bad boy back out of there. After that I always knew you can land a lot shorter than what's needed to take back off.
They got it out previously in this video with runway to spare: ua-cam.com/video/7JE5XfBK6b0/v-deo.html . Also sometimes landing distance can be more than takeoff distance due to brake performance, high idle thrust, runway surface being slick/wet, etc.
Hope you guys brought a change of underwear!
Awesome!
What a smooth landing. Congratulations !
What a smooth landing. Congratulations !
I still like the HondaJet. Can it operate on this runway? Can the Citation M2 cruse at 43k Ft at 420 KTs?
Are you kidding me?!?!?! The Skyhawk turned around and went back to the T-hangar.........
I still love watching this video
kbfi - thought it looked familiar. Smart to stay high. The BA building (to right) can make a lot of havoc on short final when the wind it up like that.
Impressive performance. I fly SIC in Citations II and V for a large flight school. However, it’s important to remember that this is a sea level airport and while you didn’t mention what the temperature was, I’m sure it was not a hot day? We spend a lot of our training time flying at high altitude airports on warm to hot days in the flight simulator. The performance on the II and V under these conditions with a full load is marginal if you lose an engine right after V1. If both motors keep running, it’s ok, but we’re always training with an eye on what kind of performance you can expect if you lose an engine at V1. At high altitude airports on a warm to hot day, if you lose an engine on TO you’d better be REALLY proficient at flying the Citation correctly by nailing V2 on the climb out and maintaining runway heading...and all this on instruments...we fly and train in hard IFR 90% of the time.
I noticed that you retracted the flaps immediately after main gear touchdown on the landing rollout. Cessna SOP per the POH???
Not retracting - CJs have a "ground flaps" flap position which you use after touchdown. Flaps move to 60 degrees down, and speedbrakes are deployed. Spoils lift and creates extra drag to help slow down. You can see how low the flaps hang in the bit filmed from the outside.
tbmfun thanks for the clarification. Hard to see clearly in the exterior video shot.

He was better than the demo pilots
Pilot, if all your landings are like this you must have really high cholesterol, *because that was smooth as buttah'* ! * !!
sunny? Not in my lifetime....Good diving though.
Impessive job of flying. Not as easy as it looks for sure. That M2 has alot of power.
The plane is only as good as its pilot(s) and you were lucky enough to get the cream of the crop for this one.
With a 100 knot Vref, that’s easily done. Like flying a King Air.
cool plane. i just wish the front of it looked more like the phenom 100, less round
High performance much?
Very impressed. I love the short take off.
Do you have a video of the takeoff too?
8 second rotation light weight load I presume, looking hot regardless...
I remember your M2 flight a few years ago where they demonstrated landing at your field. Did you move up to a M2?
You guys didn't flare!but it's a very nice landing I can tell,why ???
Mingzhang Jiao trailing link landing gear.
Very impressed. I've flown in a Mustang, but prefer the extra room and performance of the M2. Time to go look at one seriously now.
i agree with you. I even like the CJ1 and CJ2 which are still in the ligh jet category. And, you can often get one for less than a newer M2 if you do your due dilligence.
Beautiful job!
What did the calculated Takeoff Distance end up being? It appeared like you lifted before the landing turnoff, so less than 1900?
Looked like they were up where the stand of trees to the right ended. That's around 1500 feet.
Awesome plane!! Awesome video!! 👍🏼👍🏼
This video did it! I'm sold. Next time I stumble on four or five mil, I'm buying one!!! What an impressive bird this is, thrilling!
Get one that's a few years old and you'll save yourself a million +. However, you do need to figure on $75k to $100k for maintenance every year and a half or so.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing!!
nice landing!
Of course it can do this, its a Cessna!
That was awesome!
can m2 go from london to newyork !!!
No, youssof. The M2 has a range of about 1550 miles. NY to London is 3460 mile. You would have to fly from Newfoundland to Greenland to Iceland than to London. Each leg would be about 1000 miles.
I would have nope'd the fuck out of there before I went below the tree line.
All I can say is.. you nailed it
What was your weight?
